- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk (or more for desired consistency)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until well combined.
- Add the melted butter to the banana mixture and stir until fully incorporated.
- Crack in the egg and pour in the vanilla extract. Mix until the egg is fully blended.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- In a small bowl, combine the packed brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Mix well.
- Spread the softened butter evenly over the surface of the dough.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the buttered dough.
- Roll the dough into a tight log from one end, keeping the filling inside.
- Cut the log into 1-inch thick slices using a sharp knife or dental floss.
- Place the sliced rolls into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, leaving space between each roll.
- Cover the baking dish with a clean kitchen towel and let the rolls rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the rolls cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until you reach your desired consistency.
Notes
- Ensure the bananas are ripe for maximum sweetness and flavor.
