Ingredients

Scale

1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 red bell pepper, sliced

1 yellow bell pepper, sliced

1 small onion, sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

3 cups cooked white rice (or brown rice)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Green onions and sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, toss sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

  • Add the beef and cook for 2–3 minutes until browned but still tender. Remove and set aside.

  • In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed. Sauté onions and bell peppers until just tender, about 3–4 minutes.

  • Stir in minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

  • Return the beef to the pan and toss everything together until coated and heated through.

  • Serve over hot cooked rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • Slice the beef thinly against the grain for the most tender bites.

  • Prep all your ingredients ahead of time — stir-fries move fast!

  • Add a splash of water or extra sauce if you like it saucier.

  • Swap out the veggies for broccoli, snap peas, or mushrooms if you want to mix it up.
