Ingredients
1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
1 small onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 cups cooked white rice (or brown rice)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Green onions and sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
-
In a medium bowl, toss sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
-
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
-
Add the beef and cook for 2–3 minutes until browned but still tender. Remove and set aside.
-
In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed. Sauté onions and bell peppers until just tender, about 3–4 minutes.
-
Stir in minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
-
Return the beef to the pan and toss everything together until coated and heated through.
-
Serve over hot cooked rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
-
Slice the beef thinly against the grain for the most tender bites.
-
Prep all your ingredients ahead of time — stir-fries move fast!
-
Add a splash of water or extra sauce if you like it saucier.
-
Swap out the veggies for broccoli, snap peas, or mushrooms if you want to mix it up.
