Perfect for summer gatherings or cozy nights in, this dish combines sweet and savory flavors for a delightful culinary experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-made pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries, rinsed and dried
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves, roughly chopped
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup goat cheese, crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Flour for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  2. Lightly dust your work surface with flour. Let store-bought dough sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough into a round shape, about 12 inches in diameter, ensuring the edges are slightly thicker for the crust.
  4. Carefully transfer the rolled-out dough onto a baking sheet or pizza stone, lining it with parchment paper if desired.
  5. In a small bowl, gently mash half of the blackberries with a fork. Leave the other half whole.
  6. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to the mashed blackberries.
  7. In another bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella and crumbled goat cheese.
  8. Sprinkle garlic powder into the cheese mixture and stir well.
  9. Spread the mashed blackberry mixture evenly over the pizza dough, leaving about an inch around the edges.
  10. Sprinkle the cheese mixture over the blackberry layer.
  11. Scatter the remaining whole blackberries over the cheese.
  12. Sprinkle the chopped basil leaves on top.
  13. Lightly drizzle olive oil over the pizza.
  14. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  15. Monitor the pizza during the last few minutes; cover edges with aluminum foil if browning too quickly.
  16. Carefully remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes before slicing.
  17. Drizzle balsamic glaze over the top before serving.
  18. Slice the pizza into wedges and serve warm.
