Description

Recreate the iconic Pizza Hut Cheese Sticks right in your kitchen with this simple recipe. Enjoy warm, gooey, garlic-butter perfection that’s perfect for sharing on any occasion.

Ingredients

  • Store-Bought Pizza Dough
  • Homemade Dough (flour, yeast, water, sugar, salt)
  • Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella
  • White Provolone (optional, about 1/4 of the total cheese volume)
  • Grated Parmesan (optional, for sprinkling)
  • Unsalted Butter
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder
  • Dried Oregano
  • Dried Parsley
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. If using store-bought pizza dough, allow it to come to room temperature for at least 30 minutes. Lightly flour a clean work surface and roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle, roughly 10×14 inches and about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Carefully transfer your rolled-out dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Evenly sprinkle your freshly grated mozzarella cheese (and any optional provolone) over the entire surface of the dough, leaving about a 1/2-inch border around the edges.
  5. Using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, lightly score the dough into your desired stick shapes, about 1-inch wide sticks.
  6. Place the baking sheet with your cheese-covered dough into the preheated oven. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  7. While the cheese sticks are baking, melt the unsalted butter in a small bowl. Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, dried parsley, and salt until well combined.
  8. As soon as the cheese sticks come out of the oven, transfer them to a wire rack and generously brush the entire surface with the prepared garlic butter mixture.
  9. If you scored the dough, now is the time to cut all the way through the lines. Serve immediately with your favorite marinara sauce for dipping.

Keywords: Avoid overworking the dough to maintain a soft and chewy texture. Use freshly grated mozzarella for better melting and flavor, and apply the garlic butter immediately after baking for maximum flavor absorption.
