Maple Chicken Bacon Sliders: A Delicious Twist on Classic Sliders

  • Author: bakepeek
  • Total Time: 75 minutes
  • Yield: 8 sliders 1x

Description

These Maple Bacon Chicken Sliders combine sweet and savory flavors with marinated grilled chicken thighs, crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, and juicy tomatoes, all served in soft slider buns. Ideal for game day or family gatherings, they offer a delicious and satisfying bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 8 slider buns
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup sliced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise (optional)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  2. Place the chicken thighs in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat, oiling the grates if using a grill.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting any excess drip off, and place on the grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). The marinade will caramelize, creating a glaze.
  5. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes, flipping occasionally. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
  6. Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.
  7. Slice the slider buns in half and toast lightly if desired.
  8. Assemble the sliders by placing a piece of grilled chicken on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a slice of crispy bacon.
  9. Add shredded lettuce and tomato slices. Optionally, spread mayonnaise on the top half of the bun before placing it on the slider.
  10. Press down gently to hold everything together.
  11. Arrange the sliders on a serving platter and drizzle with extra maple syrup if desired.
  12. Serve warm and enjoy immediately. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheat as needed.

Notes

  • For added heat, consider adding cayenne pepper or chopped jalapeños to the marinade.
  • Substitute maple syrup with honey or agave nectar for a different sweetness.
  • Use turkey bacon and whole grain slider buns for a healthier option.
  • Add cheese, such as cheddar or pepper jack, for an extra layer of flavor.
