Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds frozen French fries (or homemade fries)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded nori (seaweed)
- 1 cup cooked salmon, flaked (can use canned or poached)
- 1 cup sushi rice, cooked and seasoned
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce (adjust for spiciness)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This high temperature will ensure your fries turn perfectly crispy.
- While the oven heats, spread the frozen fries on a large baking sheet. Drizzle with vegetable oil, and sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper evenly over the fries. Toss to coat well.
- Bake the fries in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Check halfway through and give them a good shake to ensure even cooking.
- While the fries are baking, prepare the sushi rice. If you haven’t cooked it yet, rinse 1 cup of sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook according to package instructions. Once done, transfer to a bowl and mix in rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Set aside to cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flaked salmon, softened cream cheese, and shredded mozzarella cheese. Mix until well combined.
- Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and layer the sushi rice evenly over the fries, followed by the salmon mixture. Spread it out gently to cover as much surface area as possible.
- Top with shredded nori and return the loaded fries to the oven for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- While the dish is baking, prepare the spicy sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sriracha, soy sauce, lime juice, and sesame oil until smooth. Taste and adjust for spiciness.
- Once the fries are out of the oven, drizzle the spicy sauce over the top and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Keywords: For the crispiest fries, avoid overcrowding the baking sheet. You can use sweet potato fries for a healthier twist or substitute the salmon with marinated tofu for a vegetarian option.
